Family MultiSig: protected together, passed on cleanly
A safer way for families to manage, protect, and inherit long-term crypto assets without relying on one person, one phone, or one seed phrase.
- Couple, heir or 3-of-4 vault
- Keys spread across the family
- Each key on its own device
One family plan across BTC, ETH, BSC, TRON, Solana and more
Funds can move today: the signatures needed are available.
Choose a plan that matches your family structure
Ownbit Family MultiSig is flexible. You can start with a simple couple plan, assign an inheritor, or build a stronger 3-of-4 family vault.
2-of-2 Couple Co-Managed
A and B each manage one signer wallet. Spending requires both signatures, so neither side can move assets alone.
Best for couples who want joint control and accident protection.2-of-2 Controller + Inheritor
A manages two signer wallets on two devices and shares one seed phrase with B as the inheritor. A can spend alone using two devices.
Best when one person manages the assets but wants a clear inheritance path.3-of-4 Family Vault
The family manages four signer wallets. Permissions can be distributed across family members. After the waiting period, an inheritor with any two wallets can recover access.
Best for larger families or high-value long-term holdings.Designed for real-life emergencies, not just daily spending
A normal spend still follows the required signature rule. The accident path only matters when a signer is inactive for the defined waiting period. On EVM chains an open-source contract enforces that path; on BTC, TRON and Solana it needs an assisting signature from Ownbit Official, which is discretionary under our Terms.
Normal state
Funds are protected by the selected MultiSig threshold, such as 2-of-2 or 3-of-4.
Inactive signer
If one participant loses access, passes away, or remains inactive, the wallet enters the accident-protection scenario.
After 416 days
The remaining qualified signer or inheritor can regain spending ability according to the plan.
Works across major chains
Use one family signing model across BTC, ETH, BSC, TRX, SOL and other supported networks.
Make the family plan stronger
Use cold signer wallets
Create important signer wallets as cold wallets to keep signing keys offline.
Separate seed phrases
Store each seed phrase in a different safe location and avoid putting every key under one person’s control.
Import external mnemonics
Cold MultiSig wallets can import external mnemonic phrases, including phrases from hardware wallets such as Ledger or Trezor. Importing an existing hardware-wallet seed reuses that secret on another device, so for diversification create independent signer keys; importing is for recovery or interoperability.
A vault your family can still open.
Give keys to the people you trust. With every key backed up, one lost phone doesn't mean lost coins.
