1. About Ownbit
Ownbit is a self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet application. It is software that helps users create or import wallets, view public blockchain data, manage supported digital assets, and prepare, sign, and broadcast blockchain transactions. Ownbit does not take custody of user assets, does not hold your private keys for you, and does not operate as a bank, broker, exchange, custodian, money transmitter, or investment adviser through the wallet software itself.
2. Eligibility
You may use Ownbit only if you are legally permitted to do so under the laws that apply to you. By using Ownbit, you represent that your use of the wallet and any supported digital assets is lawful in your jurisdiction. If you are using Ownbit on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Self-custody and control
Ownbit is designed for self-custody. You are solely responsible for your wallets, devices, private keys, seed phrases, passwords, biometrics, backups, and security settings.
- We cannot recover a lost seed phrase or private key for you.
- We cannot reverse or cancel blockchain transactions once submitted.
- We cannot guarantee access to your assets if you lose access credentials, misconfigure backups, or send assets to an incorrect address or network.
4. Membership and paid features
Certain advanced features may require a paid membership, subscription, or enterprise plan. Pricing, trial eligibility, and the feature scope of each plan are shown in the app or on the website. Unless required by applicable law, fees already paid for a membership period are not refundable once the relevant service period has started.
5. Blockchain transactions
Blockchain networks are decentralized systems not controlled by BITTOOL PTE. LTD. When you use Ownbit to submit a transaction, the actual transaction is processed by the relevant blockchain network and related infrastructure providers, not by us. You acknowledge that blockchain transactions may be irreversible, may fail, may be delayed, may incur network fees, and may be affected by congestion, forks, validator behavior, smart contract logic, third-party infrastructure, or other events outside our control.
6. MultiSig and enterprise workflows
MultiSig, family coordination, and enterprise approval workflows require careful configuration and backup by all relevant participants. You are responsible for understanding threshold rules, signer roles, whitelist settings, and internal approval policies before using these features. If participants lose access, fail to coordinate, or configure signing policies too strictly, assets may become difficult or impossible to move.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Ownbit in a way that:
- violates any applicable law or regulation;
- infringes or misappropriates another person’s rights;
- attempts to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the security or integrity of Ownbit or related systems;
- uses scraping, malware, denial-of-service activity, or similar harmful techniques against Ownbit infrastructure;
- misrepresents your identity or affiliation with a person or entity;
- facilitates fraud, theft, sanctions evasion, money laundering, or other unlawful activity.
8. Third-party services and network fees
Your use of blockchain networks may require payment of miner fees, gas fees, rent, or similar charges. Those charges are determined by the relevant network or service provider, not by us. Ownbit may rely on third-party infrastructure or data providers for blockchain connectivity, notifications, pricing, asset metadata, or similar functions. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or terms of third-party services.
9. No financial, legal, or tax advice
Ownbit is software, not financial advice. Nothing in the app, on the website, or in support communications constitutes legal, tax, accounting, investment, or other professional advice. Ownbit does not execute trades for you and does not recommend whether you should buy, sell, hold, or transfer any digital asset.
10. Intellectual property
The Ownbit website, application, branding, logos, interface design, text, graphics, and software components made available by us are owned by BITTOOL PTE. LTD. or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Ownbit for your personal or internal business use in accordance with these Terms.
11. Disclaimers
Ownbit is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that Ownbit will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate, or error-free. We also do not guarantee the availability or functionality of any blockchain network, validator, smart contract, node, asset, token standard, or third-party infrastructure provider.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BITTOOL PTE. LTD. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or digital assets arising from or related to your use of Ownbit. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our aggregate liability to you will not exceed the greater of SGD 100 or the amount you paid us directly, if any, for the relevant service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Suspension, changes, and termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of Ownbit at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted, unless a later effective date is stated. Your continued use of Ownbit after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Ownbit shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
